Dissemination of know-how in cross-border projects

The project aims to preserve and restore the ecological status of the oxbow that is now cut from Drava and its water supply does not satisfy ecological demands. The joint declarations of Hungary and Croatia from 2011 prove that both countries intend to maintain and improve the nature conservation status of the river.

This vision will be implemented if large number of restoration projects is managed jointly by the two countries. The restoration of Old-Drava can be a pilot project for the cooperation. The existing difference among the requirements of administration bodies, legal requirements, conditions of environmental inspectorates of Croatia and Hungary makes difficulties during restoration projects like this one. That’s why the documentation of the tools, methods, conditions and results of the conservation related processes and public participation, together with the dissemination of know-how is an important action of the project
